(SOPA) (PIPA) INTERNET BLACKOUT FAILS

All the big hitters have failed to join the internet blackout. Google, Twitter and many other big internet company's are to play no part in the blackout on Wednesday. Wikipedia and Reddit will black out their pages so visitors will see only information about Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA). The lack of support may have a devastating effect on social media sites if the bill is passed

so some sites are posting articles that SOPA has been tabled

To be honest next to sites like Twitter and Google GLP are small fries.It will probably pass un-noticed to anyone outside their community. Their visitor numbers on the counter are way off too. They don't get as many visitors as what you think. The visitor counter is there as an incentive to join a very large community when actually it's only half the size. They use something like this http://fakevisitors.net/26/fastvisits-v-1-1-official/ It's all psychological.

yes I know about all the wierd accusations about that place spread by the mods to generate interest, and it's over run with bots........however

according to whois it is generating about a grand a day in advertising revenue...so are you saying that the numbers on the forum1 page are not consistent with the numbers that the ad services are tallying?

for if so it would mean legal trouble in my estimation

Don't get me wrong the volume of traffic is high just not as high as they state. Iet me give you an example. If someone posts a topic and it's a breaking news big 5 star thread the view count will rocket but even when the thread is pinned for two or three hours the views never pass the 500 mark in this time period. The visitor counter on the website will always indicate at least 1400 visitors online and is accurately reset every 3 mins.

Now notice at a peak time when there are over 4000 supposed visitors on the site the number i just gave you don't change,Still no more than 500 views within 3 hours. What does this mean? if there are 4000 visitors on the site for the three hour period then wouldn't there be more than 500 views on that pinned topic even if it was the same 4000 visitors for the whole three hour period. So say half are new visitors this would mean 6000 unique visits in a three hour period and much less than a thousand views on a pinned topic. It doesn't add up my friend.

A better explanation would be to say the visitor counter is rigged and begins its count from 1200. The visitor count is never ever below this 24/7. Like i said it is a psychological concept. The visitors come see a very busy forum and feel comfortable about posting complete rubbish. To the site owner it doesn't matter what they post about, crap or not! He's just interested in traffic and getting them to click on the hundreds of Ad's on the site. Once you have a community dedicated to a site and you can get them to spend most of their time clicking all day your on to a winner.

Sites with stats on other sites are not very accurate. This is my website stats from the first checker i came across and it states we are getting more views in a day than we have had all year. The only person that really knows the accurate numbers are the website owners
